10 Most Popular Crochet and Knitting Patterns in 2023

Today I’m sharing my most popular crochet and knitting patterns from 2023 with you. I have a lot more crochet patterns than knitting patterns, but a couple of my knitting designs made it in the top 10 for the year.

By far, my favorite yarn craft things to make are bags and blankets. You’ll find bags and blankets here along with a few different projects of different styles.

Most of my crochet and knitting patterns are beginner friendly or easy skill level. I love using basic stitches in fresh and modern ways to create something to be treasured for years to come.

Don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel HERE. I don’t have a lot of YouTube videos available right now but one of my goals for 2024 is to start putting out more content!

Not Your Granny’s Beach Bag (Crochet)

This fun and punkish beach bag puts a modern twist on the old-fashioned granny square. You’ll crochet a solid granny square then use easy increases and decreases to create the body for the bag. For bags like this, I use the general rule of thumb of using cotton or other natural fiber yarn for stability.

Seamless Bento Bag (Crochet)

The Seamless Bento Bag calls for double strands of cotton yarn and works up very quickly with the open mesh throughout. The simple construction creates a bento shaped bag, but the only seaming is at the handles using a crisscross method with a length of yarn after finishing.

Cozy Knit Dickey (Knit)

If you love a good dickey (aka dickie), this one creates a chunky knitted fabric perfect for layering. The pattern uses larger needles with basic knitting stitches including knit, purl, yo, k2tog, and picking up stitches. I used circular knitting needles for the flat and in the round portions for ease and consistency.

The Everygirl Bag (Crochet)

Create a fun and modern market bag with a unique stitch pattern that creates a mesh like fabric perfect for produce and other market items. The pattern calls for foundation stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, and extended single crochet stitches.

Coralyn Raglan (Crochet)

The Coralyn Raglan was my first garment design and I’m still in love with her. I used Lion Brand ZZ Twist which is discontinued now but there are similar reverse twisted yarns out there to create the same amazing crochet fabric for this piece. Pattern is intermediate skill level.

Winter Dreams (Crochet)

Winter Dreams is an easy crochet baby blanket pattern using the even moss stitch and two different types of yarns to create loads of luxurious texture. This was one of those crochet projects that once I got started, I couldn’t put it down!

Blanket Stitch Throw | Free Crochet Patterns | Yarnique

Blanket Stitch Throw (Crochet)

Next up on our crochet and knitting patterns is one of the easiest blankets you’ll ever make. With the easy crochet stitches and bulky weight of the yarn, you’ll have a squishy baby blanket in no time. There is no ‘right yarn’ for this blanket though, try different yarn you have in your stash.

Paprika Pocket Scarf (Crochet)

This fun and cozy hooded pocket scarf uses the double crochet and single crochet stitch to create a textured fabric throughout. Pattern is written in average woman size but can easily be made for kids using a lighter weight of yarn and smaller hook.

Le Ciel Bleu Blanket (Crochet)

Le Ciel Bleu was my first ever fully published crochet pattern back in 2018 when I was just getting started. The end result yields crocheted fabrics that are light and airy on the body and heavier for the border providing warmth and visual appeal. You may even learn a new skill with the color changes on this one.

Felicity Blanket (Knit)

This is one of those knitting projects for my square blanket lovers. I used double strands of this beautiful yarn for the color effect, and it will look amazing in so many different types of yarn. You’ll knit in stockinette stitch in the round with circular needles (length of cord varies based on the amount of stitches) until you reach your desired size.
